The EcoDiesel V6 features 420 ft-lbs of torque, can go up to 16,000 kms between oil changes, and can burn biodiesel. Engine choices

It seems like engine choices in full-sized trucks these days are turning into "you can have it in any colour, so long as it's black". I use my truck every weekend: the V6

As recently as five years ago, nobody took a V6 truck seriously. A V6 was the price-point work truck that got people in the door, but then the 3.6L Pentastar V6 came out. With 305 horsepower this motor created more horsepower than many competitors' V8 trucks had at the time. When this power was combined with its exceptional highway fuel economy, which was much better than Ford or Chevy, it is easy to see why it was so popular.

I'm out in the bush half the time: the Hemi

At 395hp the Hemi has been accused of being a brute. Although it is reliably powerful the modern Hemi strikes a balance between power and fuel economy through finesse and technology. Multi-displacement technology allows the V8 to be a 4 cylinder when it needs to, and variable valve timing makes sure this truck's engine is always running at the most efficient timing profile possible. This active intake manifold even varies the length of the port based on engine RPMs.

Towing

When properly equipped, you're looking at a towing capacity of 10,450 lbs on the 2017 RAM 1500. Electronic Stability Control with trailer sway control is standard, and for those who are serious about pulling boats and other toys, integrated trailer brake controllers and hitch receivers are available.
